“Artisan completed a large downstairs extension and whole house renovation for us in 2021.
The work itself was completed to a very high standard and we have had so many compliments. They coordinated all aspects of the work from plumbing, electrics, plastering, kitchen and bathroom fitting and worked closely with the architect and structural engineer to make the end-to-end process as smooth as possible.
While the quality of the actual building work (which was exceptional) should be a key factor in how you’d rate a company, another massive factor for us was the people involved in the work. This was a huge project for us and could’ve been incredibly stressful but we felt looked after every step of the way. Nick instilled confidence from the first time me met him and that continued throughout from him, Lewis and the whole team. We weren’t living in the property while work was carried out but we were kept up to date on progress regularly. Where decisions were needed to be made we were talked through all the options and were shown great patience while we decided; where unforeseen issues arose (which will happen on any project with any builders) we were guided as to what needed to be resolved now vs later and they liaised with the other trade people on our behalf, emphasising that they were managing this project and that it was their responsibility to resolve and not ours. There was never any element of trying to sell us unnecessary extras, they actively tried to find ways to help us keep costs down whilst maintaining high standards.
Everyone we met and dealt with was friendly, polite, helpful, respectful and hard working. They took care of our property and had a sense of pride about their work and presentation. Neighbours even commented on their professionalism and tidiness.
