Brief: Extension for open plan modern family and complete refurbishment of existing house.
For this project, we built a two storey front, side and rear wrap around extension and completely changed the interior of the house by adapting it for open plan living, which involved extensive use of steel beams and columns. A scaffold and temporary roof were erected in order to keep the house weatherproof.
We built an open plan porch and laid a resin bonded driveway with a path leading to the back garden, where we laid a patio and path, also in resin bond. The steps from the patio were built out of railway sleepers.
During the consultation process, we went through the entire aspect of the build with the client and discussed their design ideas. This process led to the idea of the kitchen window being designed as a large round window, an unusual feature, adding to the aesthetics of the property.
